A Sadio Mane hat-trick reinvigorated Southampton’s bid for Europa League football following a 4-2 win against Manchester City.
Shane Long and Sadio Mane scored within three and a half minutes of each other setting the hosts on their way.
Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored twice, grabbed a goal back for City just before halftime but Mane netted twice after the break to lift Southampton comfortably over the line.
Southampton – on 57 points – jumped above Liverpool, who lost at Swansea but have a game in hand, into seventh place.
